Trimester Donations Due!

I hope you didn't think we'd fallen into the deep blue sea. The truth is, life's been downright demanding in the past several months, but we haven't gone anywhere, and our ministry to Meru is thriving. As a matter of fact, Peter and Josephine are working on a letter that will soon be ready to drop in the mail with a full report on their trip to Meru last July.

IF you're a sponsor and you send in your donations each trimester, make a note that it's time to send your donation for November. We send these as early as possible in case sponsors want to include a Christmas gift of a few extra dollars.

DO NOTE that regarding school terms, a donation in November/December goes toward the first term of the new school year which begins in January 2009.
If your sponsored child is in Form 4, he or she has been sitting for exams this fall and will know their test results in January. Your gift at this time of year will be treated as a graduation gift and will help your student in the transition phase of leaving school.

Your sponsorship officially ends as your child exits Secondary School, though you are certainly free to send a monetary gift from time to time as you learn what he or she decides to do next.

If you are completing a sponsorship AND WANT TO "ADOPT" ANOTHER STUDENT, we have several children who could use your assistance. Just contact Sharon at sdmoffitt@hotmail.com

FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES, we are making a slight change in how we handle your donations. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE. We would like you to use the specially made envelopes we have for this ministry. If you do not have any of these, write to Sharon at the above address and we'll send you some.

PLEASE DO NOT WRITE THE DESIGNATED PURPOSE FOR YOUR GIFT on the MEMO line of your check.
FINALLY, if you have a change of status regarding your sponsorship or if you have a change of address (electronic or regular post) PLEASE LET SHARON KNOW. Thanks!

We are excited to announce that 15 students in our program have finished Form 4 this year. That may not sound like a lot to you, but I hope you will pause to picture in your mind's eye 15 youngsters receiving their high school diplomas BECAUSE you cared enough to help them return to school; 15 kids who otherwise would have been idle, scrounging for pennies to feed themselves and younger brothers and sisters have been in school preparing for a better future!

THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS AND MAY GOD THOROUGHLY BLESS YOU.
